Our firm represents a number of high tech companies and automotive suppliers around the world from our home base near Detroit, Michigan.  For our U.S. corporate clients, in addition to our off shore management and corporate services, usually we can secure temporary work authorizations to bring talented personnel to the United States quickly while simultaneously pursuing the lengthier process of obtaining permanent resident status. We are skilled at avoiding the quota and administrative problems that have arisen lately with H-1B status, which is the most common temporary work authorization. We also pursue all options, from the more common statuses for investors and intracompany transferees, to the use of statuses that are often overlooked, such as those for exchange and training programs and for aliens with outstanding ability in their fields. To achieve permanent resident status, we are skilled in the labor certification process and also in more esoteric and underutilized processes that can be significantly quicker and less frustrating. Our lawyers also assist companies in establishing procedures for assuring I-9 Compliance, and that their personnel remain in lawful status and that the companies themselves avoid a variety of potential sanctions.
