GREEN CARD LOTTERY

Procedure for DV-2001 (visas - immigration green card lottery application) registration

Section 201(a)(3) of the immigration and nationality act established an annual selection of 55,000 immigrants' visas - immigration through a green card lottery or random selection process.

The eligible countries are selected based on a mathematical formula to determine level of prior immigration to the United States. Those countries listed below have been excluded since the levels of visas - immigration exceed the permitted levels that establish eligibility for the DV-2001 green card lottery program. The minimum visas - immigration requirements as to green card lottery eligibility are:

1.  birth in a qualifying country (or spouse who qualifies by birth);
2.  attainment of a high school diploma (or the equivalent) or have a minimum of two years employment 3.  experience in a position that requires a minimum of two years experience. This employment experience must be within the previous five years;
4.  must be otherwise eligible for admission.

Note that even if selected you will be required to process your final application (for the immigrant visa) through a US Consulate and will have to do so as soon as possible after notification. Note that our office will receive such a notification on your behalf (if you are selected) and will thereafter liaise with you to notify you of processing.
